Type Locality and Naming

In Kandyrsay, Angren River valley. L.D. Anpleeva, A.A. Bukharinav in 1977 (Koloyarov et al., 1977). Stratotype at Kandyrsay.

Synonym: Kandyrsayskaya Svita, Кандыпсайская св.


Lithology and Thickness

Alluvial-proluvial brownish-gray conglomerates, gravelites, sandstones, and lensoid interbedded with each other. In the upper reaches of the Angren, Chatkal basin, and along the Aksakate River, the section is represented by brownish and brownish-gray conglomerates, gravelites, sandstones, and siltstone (aleurolites). Thickness 80-400 m.

Relationships and Distribution

Lower contact

With erosion, it lies on the Gidzhal Fm

Upper contact

is conformably overlain by Turasay or Neopleistocene deposits.
